Pieta

Though it is not, as far as I know, a depiction of Jesus in the arms of Mary, this image of a woman with her dead child, by Kathe Kollwitz, evokes the sorrow of mothers for their children.

It would be good this Holy Saturday to sit with this image – in grief and in hope.

  1. This is beautiful for meditation, John. Thank you. I’ll try to attach two of the late John O’Donohue’s poems for you. They are: The Nativity, and Placenta, excerpted from his book, Conamara Blues. (I added some appropriate clipart.)

I’ve been having trouble with my computer since XP is no longer serviced by Microsoft so hope they come through.
